Ways your office can fight hunger in our city!

 It's easy to participate in Lunch Money Day. See below for some ideas. The sky is the limit... feel free to be as creative as you want. Second Harvest staff will be there to provide you with all the support you need. Here are four easy steps to running a Lunch Money Day campaign. You can print out a Lunch Money Day fact sheet.

LMD Ideas

A Campaign - At your request, a kit will be delivered to your office containing posters, stickers, collection cans and brown paper bags, all free of charge. On February 21, 2008, ask employees to donate to Second Harvest the money that they would have spent on lunch. Volunteers within the company can circulate around the office and collect donations in the collection cans.

A Company Sponsored Lunch - The Lunch Money Day representative in your company organizes a company sponsored staff lunch (e.g. pizza party, hot dog lunch, etc.). Management buys the lunch, and staff make a donation to partake in the meal.

An Office Casual Day - Prior to Lunch Money Day, staff pays $5 each for the opportunity to dress casually on Lunch Money Day.

Company Matches Donations -  Many companies are willing to match the funds raised by their employees. Prior to Lunch Money Day the LMD representative requests in writing that the company either matches the employees' contributions or makes a corporate donation. Your Donation

At the end of your campaign, write a corporate cheque or a personal cheque (indicate your company's name) and mail it to: Second Harvest, 1450 Lodestar Road, Unit 18, Toronto, Ontario M3J 3C1. On personal cheques, please indicate the name of your company and note that it is for an employee collection.
